Substance Abuse Counselor-In Prison Programs

Center Point's mission is to provide comprehensive social, educational, vocational, medical, psychological, housing and rehabilitation services to combat social problems such as substance abuse, poverty, unemployment and homelessness.

Center Point is seeking compassionate and enthusiastic individuals with a desire to teach to join one of our exciting teams as Certified SUD / AOD Counselors at one of our in-prison programs in:

  • Pelican Bay State Prison, Crescent City, CA
  • High Desert State Prison, Susanville, CA
  • Folsom State Prison, Folsom, CA
  • California State Prison, Sacramento, Folsom, CA
  • California Medical Facility, Vacaville, CA
  • California State Prison, Solano, Vacaville, CA
  • California State Prison, San Quentin, San Rafael, CA.
  • Mule Creek State Prison, Ione, CA
  • California Health Care Facility, Stockton, CA
  • Sierra Conservation Center, Jamestown, CA

About the Position:

As a Certified SUD / AOD / Substance Abuse Counselor you will support the community by delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming services provided in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment (ISTUD) Program.

Duties:

Develop a treatment alliance with participants that is mutual, collaborative, individualized, and responsive to all parties changing needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

SUD / AOD / Substance Abuse Counselors must meet one (1) of the following minimum requirements:

Level III (The Counselor III must meet one (1) of the following requirements):

  • AOD certified and more than two (2) years of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor. Less years of experience is required depending on level of education.

Level II (The Counselor II must meet one (1) of the following requirements):

  • AOD certified and one (1) to two (2) years of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor. Less years of experience is required depending on level of education.

Level I (The Counselor I must meet one (1) of the following requirements):

  • Less than one (1) years of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor; or
  • Registered with an AOD certifying organization recognized by DHCS, enrolled in AOD education classes, and six (6) months of experience providing CBI services.
  • Also accepting: Therapists, Counselors working on Licensure or Certification, MFTs, APCCs, and Interns.

Pay Frequency: Twice monthly

Work Remotely: No

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $29.00 - $37.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday (no weekends)
