The position of Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist-Associate includes active engagement and coordination of care with internal resources including psychiatry and community support as well as external bodies including the legal system, families, and social support agencies. The position requires the individual to be an active and positive member of the clinical team. Based on setting, special skills and/or work with specific populations will be required. Relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment to provide quality services with very little supervision and direction. Must be an individual that holds a license issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession. These interventions are strength-based and focus on the promotion of recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills and the achievement of the highest level of social functioning.Location: Caldwell and Alexander CountiesHours: 8am-5pm with some variability based on individual needs; rotating on call coverage every 4-6 weeksCompensation: $48,000-$52,000 depending on experienceJob ResponsibilitiesAs a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist - Associate with RHA, your responsibilities will vary based on the groups you work with and the programs through which you provide services. In all activities, you will coordinate closely with the interdisciplinary team to best help service users, including behavioral health specialists, registered nurses, quality assurance specialists, paraprofessionals and the Clinical Director.Additional responsibilities of the Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist include:Conducting clinical assessmentsConducting home visits and completing case coordination activities in the communityConducting in home individual therapy sessionsCompleting relapse prevention plansOrienting new service users to RHADeveloping person-centered plans for service user to address MH and SU needsOversee the discharge planning processRotating on call coverageFacilitating relationships between RHA, service user families/legal guardians and various social service community resources, such as food stamp and housing assistance, healthcare, job training and placement and substance abuse support groupsOur ideal Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist is an excellent communicator and listener with strong therapeutic skills who works well as part of an interdisciplinary team and runs open and productive therapy sessions. You must also excel at behavioral interviewing techniques to uncover service user needs and be able to anticipate these needs, comfortable in fast paced, community based environment.Additional requirements for the Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist include:Graduate degree in Social Work or a related fieldAt a minimum, provisional licensure to provide mental/behavioral healthcare in the state of North CarolinaMinimum 2 years experience working with individuals with mental and/or behavioral health issues that includes writing person-centered plans, conducting effective group therapy and providing mental health diagnosesGeneral working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North CarolinaValid driver's license, auto insurance and reliable transportationAbility to pass a drug screen and background checkAbility to lift between 20 and 50 pounds and meet the physical requirements of performing CPR and therapeutic holdsEmployee supervisory experience preferredExperience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferredPre-employment screening:Complete criminal backgroundName checked in the registries.
