Description At West Central Behavioral Health, counselors are members of a supportive and multidisciplinary environment. Our organization provides primarily office-based therapy to clients affected by drug addiction and alcoholism. West Central Behavioral Health is the Non-Profit Community Mental Health Care provider for Sullivan and Lower Grafton Counties. We are seeking to hire a MLADC, with a background in substance use treatment and addictions, to provide individual and group therapy to recovering adults and adolescents, possibly with dual diagnoses. Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group therapy to primarily substance abuse clients
- Manage case referrals and assignments to coordinate treatment with other treatment team members.
- Collaborate with and mobilize community resources.
- Support family members in helping to understand and relate to client and the treatment plan.
- Act as a consultant and educator to community groups and individuals on substance abuse and mental health topics and issues.
- May participate in In-Service Activities-such as: Supervision of Assigned Trainees, Co-Therapy with Residents and Disposition Conferences.
RequirementsEducation/Licensure Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in related human services field or rehabilitation counseling
- LADC preferred, but not required. If not LADC, must be Master's level clinician
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related clinical experience
- Working knowledge of co-occurring disorders
- Experience working with adolescents a plus
Requirements:
- Ability to create, implement, and monitor outcome-driving treatment plans
- Proven competence in diagnosing and treating alcohol and other drug use disorders
- Excellent time management skills; organized and able to prioritize
- Ability to communicate professionally (both verbally and in writing) with clients, colleagues, and community resources
