Job Description:

The position of Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist calls for a licensed professional clinician skilled in treating a range of substance use disorders. The position requires an individual who is able to treat and be successfully at assessing and treating co-occurring disorders including mental illness, personality disorders, and challenges in primary or secondary support systems. Relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment to provide quality services with very little supervision and direction. Must be an individual that holds a license issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession. Some services may require additional experience, licensure, or education. Pay: $57,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on licensure and experience Schedule: Option of 5 - 8 hours shifts (M-F) or 4 -10 hour shifts per week. Must include Monday/Wednesday/Friday evening group. Job Responsibilities:
  • Facilitating intensive adult substance use groups, and conducting individual sessions for group members.
  • On-call duties rotated with other group facilitators
  • Coordinates closely with the interdisciplinary team to best help service users, including behavioral health specialists, registered nurses, quality assurance specialists, paraprofessionals and the Clinical Director.
  • Running individual, family and group outpatient therapy sessions.
  • Orienting new service users to RHA
  • Developing person-centered plans with individuals
  • Oversee the discharge planning process
  • Facilitating relationships between RHA, individuals, families/legal guardians and various social service community resources, such as food stamp and housing assistance, healthcare, job training and placement and substance abuse support groups
  • Excellent communicator and listener with strong therapeutic skills who works well as part of an interdisciplinary team and runs open and productive therapy sessions.
Job Requirements:
  • Valid licensure to provide mental/behavioral healthcare in the state of North Carolina
  • License include: CCS or LCAS, or CADC in North Carolina
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check

  • Drug testing
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
