The Sustainable Partnership is partnered with a leading global renewable energy developer and power producer who are hiring for a Substation Construction Manager to join their team in Denver.
The successful candidate will oversee the construction and commissioning of multiple onshore renewable energy projects (solar, wind and battery storage), with a focus on the MV/HV and substation components of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and reporting of field installations, taking into account site safety, quality and compliance.
- Supervision of MV/HV Equipment inspection activities, addressing quality concerns with stakeholders and contractors as needed.
- Manage and monitor project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans, and contractor and supplier quality.
- Address emerging warranty issues and lead cross-functional teams for quality and warranty risk reviews.
- Support the review of quality contract requirements for contractors, driving standardization of the requirements and consistent inclusion in contracts.
- Drive quality initiatives and foster a right-first-time culture.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
- Knowledge of High/Medium Voltage equipment, substations, and their construction, commissioning, and protective systems (e.g., relaying, SCADA).
- Experience in reviewing substation equipment test results to ensure compliance with NETA requirements and warranty standards.
- Experience in implementing and monitoring Quality Management Systems.
- Strong understanding of project quality requirements.
