Job Title: Cafeteria Worker Exemption Status/Test: NonexemptReports to: Cafeteria Manager Date Revised:Dept./School:It is a mandatory State requirement that all employees/substitutes on a school campus have their fingerprints on file with the Texas DPS. Once you have completed your application, your information will be sent to the Texas DPS to order a FastPass. The Fastpass will then be emailed to you which will enable you to schedule an appointment to get fingerprinted at their Beaumont or Silsbee location. The Fingerprinting cost is approximately $49.00 and is your responsibility to pay to them at time of service.Once your fingerprinting is complete, your name can be added to our approved substitute list, providing candidate has a satisfactory outcome of their fingerprint background check and ALL OTHER paperwork has been completed.This is for a SUBSTITUTE position, on an AS NEEDED basis, and does not constitute an offer of Full-time employment. Starting pay for a Cafeteria Substitute is $9.10 per hour.Primary Purpose:Work under moderate supervision to prepare and serve appropriate quantities of food to meet menu requirements. Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices.Qualifications:Education/Certification:None specifiedSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Ability to understand written and verbal food preparation and safety instructionsWorking knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production proceduresAbility to operate large and small kitchen equipment and toolsAbility to perform basic mathExperience:NoneMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Food Preparation and Serving* Prepare quality food according to a planned menu of tested and uniform recipes.* Serve food according to meal schedules, departmental policies, and procedures, and practice and promote portion control and proper use of leftovers.* Store and handle food items and supplies safely and according to established procedures.
