Description
We seek applicants for a temporary, full-time substitute in the College's Child Development Lab (CDL). The CDL is a nationally accredited laboratory school providing care and education to young children as well as field experience for college students pursuing the early childhood field.
This position will work collaboratively with the Child Development Specialist(s) in a mixed infant/toddler or preschool classrooms to implement planned age appropriate activities, maintain safety, and support learning goals. Schedule is anticipated to include 40 hours per week for a 12-week period to begin this fall.
General responsibilities include but are not limited to
* Ensure a safe, nurturing learning environment for all children indoors and outdoors
* Plan and implement curriculum and activities
* Assess and support needs of individual children
Requirements
* Completion of 60+ credit hours at an accredited institution with a minimum of 6 credit hours directly related to early childhood education
* Previous successful experience working in a childcare setting
* Ability to pass DCFS criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
* Associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field
* Gateways Level 4 Infant Toddler or Early Childhood credential
Anticipated pay rate is $18.50/hour or above, dependent on qualifications.
