Great for retired individuals who still want to get out and about.Status: Part Time No Benefits, Substitute Driver (As needed)Shift: DaysShift Time Schedule: 10:00 am - 1:000 pmDays: Variable days Monday-Friday as neededThis position offers great pay, mileage reimbursement, and no weekends or evenings. Route is in Boone.POSITION SUMMARY: Drives in own automobile over established route to delivermeals to client's place of residence.ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:
  • Regular attendance
  • Picks up prepared meals at provider location,delivers meals to clients on assigned route in an expedient manner as well asbeing respectful and courteous, reports observed changes in clients conditionto supervisor, and if unable to deliver a meal for any reason
  • Returns meal carriers to provider location atend of route
  • Maintains accurate records for statisticalpurposes
  • Maintains effective communication with staff,clients and all levels of supervision
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, in individual must be able to perform each essential function
  • Work experience: No prior experience or training required
  • Education/Certifications/Licenses: Valid Iowa Drivers License, Maintains auto liability insurance
  • Desired Work Traits: Ability to do simple math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of two figured numbers. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instruction
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write short correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations
WORKING CONDITIONS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including driving. The employee is also exposed to varied home environments including pets and household pests. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.Vision must be correctable to view computer screens and read printed information.
