Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/Substitute SecretaryDate Posted: 9/24/2024Location: CountywideCounty: Marshall County Schools - websitePOSITION 25S33 TITLE: Substitute Secretaries (24-25) LOCATIONS: Countywide DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is a partial listing of duties which may be assigned: filing, typing, bookkeeping, public reception, answering the phone, making appropriate phone calls, referring calls or conveying accurate messages to appropriate individuals, maintaining records, copying records, using machines, using computers, directing and giving instructions as necessary, WVEIS reports, requisitions and purchase orders, inventories. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Individual to be employed will demonstrate requisite skills such as filing, book-keeping, accounting, purchasing, typing, public reception, telephone communications, general knowledge of and competence working with computers (Microsoft Office, Excel, Spreadsheets, WVEIS). Pass State developed tests to indicate minimum competencies in each area of job classification as titled. Typing speed of at least 25 words per minute. The secretary will demonstrate an ability to work well with others, receive public visitors graciously, exude a courteous demeanor, recognize the sensitivity of matters discussed and materials reviewed and be willing to maintain the confidentiality of records and school business transacted. BEFORE WORKING: The Substitute Secretary must pass the WV State Test for Secretary (including typing at least 25 words per minute) The Substitute Secretary must complete a WV background check The Substitute Secretary must attend the WVEIS Training The Substitute Secretary must attend the Substitute Service Personnel Orientation The applicant will also demonstrate the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position as contained in the job description, with or without reasonable accommodation.
