We serve the communities of Aromas, Castroville, Elkhorn, Moss Landing, Prunedale, Royal Oaks, and portions of Salinas. Our District provides educational programs and services for our community from infant to adult which includes our Castro Plaza Family Resource Center and Family Services Center. Our early learning programs support children ages zero to 4 years of age. Our four elementary schools each serve preschool/TK/K-6th grade (Castroville, Echo Valley, Elkhorn and Prunedale Elementary Schools). North Monterey County Middle School serves 7th and 8th grade. North Monterey County High School serves 9th-12th grade, and our Educational Options includes Central Bay Continuation High School (16 years+) as well as a fully accredited TK-12 North Monterey County Center for Independent Studies/Homeschooling/Distance Learning school. We also have a full offering of Career Technical Education pathways for our students and Adult Education programs for our community members and parents. Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Principal, Director of Special Education, or Coordinator for Special Education, assist the assigned certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students with moderate to severe special education learning needs in a special education or general education classroom environments; support collection of student data and in the preparation and implementation of behavioral and instructional materials; ensure successful achievement of accommodations, modifications, and measures to remove barriers to learning through the Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plan; perform a variety of routine clerical duties.Requirements / Qualifications
- NCLB Compliance (Verification of Associate's Degree, OR transcripts showing completion of 48 semester units, OR copy of NCLB compliancy certificate.)
- Proof of HS Graduation (Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent, transcripts or college degree)
Comments and Other InformationFingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and/or FBI, online trainings and proof of being cleared of Tuberculosis and online trainings are required prior to starting employment. Substitutes are considered on-call/as needed and will be contacted by our Special Services department if on-boarded. All classified substitutes shall be paid at step 1 or A1 as indicated on the salary schedule for the assignment they are subbing in.
