About the EmployerSan Luis Coastal Unified School District represents the communities of Avila, Edna Valley, Los Osos, Morro Bay, and San Luis Obispo and currently has an enrollment of approximately 7,500 students. Small neighborhood schools are a hallmark of the District where students are educated from preschool through twelfth grade and a world-class adult school program offers unique, life-improving courses to thousands of community members. Requirements / QualificationsAll attachments are required to be considered to have a complete application including work history to move forward in the hiring process. We will be creating a sub list for the 2024/25 School Year. A CURRENT valid CA teaching credential or sub permit is REQUIRED. If you don't have a sub permit you can apply for one through SLOCOE and apply after it is issued. Applications will be reviewed and interviews will be held AFTER the posting is closed, and will be in person. You will be contacted AFTER the posting closes. Interviews will be tentatively held mid November. HIring for subs will be about once a month during the school year. 30 Day Permits are being accepted along with full credentials; however, our focus is full credentials, especially in Special Education. Prior teaching experience is preferred. Must be able to pass fingerprint clearance and TB test after offer of employment. Must enjoy working with children. Able to work at least two days per week.
