In the absence of the Teacher/Paraprofessional, the substitute worker assist in implementing educational programs and assuring that each child is well cared for and safe. QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMust be fingerprinted after background check is completed (additional fingerprinting is required for ELC)Ability to use the online substitute management systemAbility to effectively instruct and communicate both verbal and written formats.Ability to maintain confidentiality.REPORTS TO: Campus PrincipalJOB GOAL:To enable each child to pursue his education smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of his/her regular teacher.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to the school office upon arrival at 7:30 a.m.
- Reviews with the principal or secretary all plans/schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
- Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods.
- Writes a note about work completed at the end of each teaching day and leaves it for the regular classroom teacher.
- Remains until all assigned duties are performed, including dismissal duty.
- Reports to the building office staff at the conclusion of the teaching day and verifies whether or not his/her services will be required the next teaching day.
