You can select the age range and subject areas that align with your expertise and passions.Job PurposeThis part-time, temporary role is essential to maintaining the continuity and excellence of Summit School's learning environment. Substitute teachers are expected to step in seamlessly, leading classrooms with preparedness, professionalism, and care when the regular teacher is unavailable. You will work closely with grade-level and department teams, ensuring that the learning experience remains engaging, collaborative, and consistent with the school's mission.Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Division Directors, grade-level teams, and department colleagues to execute pre-planned lessons and activities.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and structured learning environment for all students.
- Follow the school's established curriculum and adhere to lesson plans as provided.
- Take on non-instructional duties as assigned, such as lunch supervision or carpool assistance.
- Demonstrate professionalism and uphold the expectations.
- Model respectful, responsible, and positive behavior that reflects the values of Summit School to students, staff, and families.
QualificationsQualifications & Skills
- A passion for teaching and working with students of varying ages.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to quickly build rapport with students.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively with diverse age groups and subjects.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related academic field preferred
- Classroom experience preferred
