Security and Fraud Department Summary: The security and fraud department safeguards assets by preventing and detecting fraudulent activities and ensures the integrity of operations through thorough security assessments. It investigates incidents of fraud or security breaches, gathers evidence, and reports on findings. Additionally, the department supports internal projects and compliance efforts related to security and fraud prevention. General Responsibilities: - Active Participation: Attend and contribute to Security and Fraud team meetings and daily tasks consistently throughout the internship. - Professional Presence: Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance and engage effectively with team members and supervisors in the office environment. - Timely Communication: Provide regular updates on assigned projects, seek feedback proactively, and address any challenges or questions promptly to ensure smooth progress. Essential Functions/Duties: 1. Promote Corporate Values: Exemplify LINK's values of Live, Integrity, Nurture, and Knowledge in all activities. 2. Review Monthly Security Testing: Ensure tests are completed on time and meet standards. 3. Review Quarterly Security Reports: Verify reports are completed on schedule and are accurate. 4. Review Night Inspection Reports: Check that inspections are timely and complete. 5. Support Fraud Analyst: Help analyze and review fraud alerts. 6. Assist in Fraud Investigations: Contribute to investigations by researching, sending correspondence, and contacting clients. 7. Support Security Officer: Aid in various departmental projects, including phone calls, meeting notes, and research. Requirements Requirements: - Availability: Required to be present in person five days a week from mid-May to early August. - Academic Status: Must be a current student at an accredited college or university, preferably at the Junior or Senior level. - Intern Activities: Will engage in various activities with fellow interns, including a volunteer day, lunch-and-learns, field trip to Camp Hill Solution Center, and a final project. Preferred College Courses: - Cybersecurity Fundamentals: Covers the basics of protecting digital systems and data from cyber threats. - Information Security: Focuses on strategies and technologies for safeguarding information systems. - Fraud Examination: Teaches methods for detecting, investigating, and preventing fraud. - Risk Management: Explores techniques for identifying and mitigating risks in various environments. - Criminal Justice: Provides insight into the criminal justice system and investigative procedures. - Data Analytics: Offers skills for analyzing data to identify patterns and anomalies indicative of fraud or security issues. - Ethics in Security and Fraud: Examines ethical considerations and professional standards in the field.
