Job Description: (2) 3-month positions (May 2025 through August 2025) (1) 15-month position (May 2025 through August 2026)
Duties/Tasks: Duties at the surface coal mine will be wide and varied, based on needs of the operation. These duties may include all or some of the following:
- Repairing electrical mining equipment and facilities.
- Assisting with electrical inspections on mine equipment.
- Working with different voltage electrical systems.
- Troubleshooting motor control circuits, PLC, and digital drive control systems.
- Performing job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal environmental regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Applicants will be trained to operate a bucket truck, digger truck, cable reeler, cable tractor, trencher, and other support equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful applicant should have a working knowledge of AC and DC circuits, electrical controls, and troubleshooting with and understanding of electrical schematics. Applicants need to have a valid driver's license, be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and will work rotating shifts.
Educational Requirements: Enrolled in accredited electrical program and in good academic standing.
