About the Internship
The Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the development and oversight of the agency's $37 billion Capital Plan, providing recommendations and guidance on the successful planning, development, and delivery of projects, facilitating training and development on industry-leading methodologies and practices, and working with Engineering and other departments to promote innovative and current project management techniques and methodologies to ensure effective project delivery performance.
Our internship provides an opportunity for students to gain practical experience with Project Delivery best practices and train under professionals with dozens of years of experience in the Project Management field. The intern will work with a team of professionals in the development and oversight of Project Delivery for the agency.
Responsibilities
+ Support efforts associated with the development and implementation of project delivery improvements in response to lessons learned and project risks.
+ Work will include reviewing lessons learned and risk assessment reports.
+ Participate in meetings with stakeholders and assist in developing implementation strategies.
+ Present results to PMO and agency project delivery community.
+ Prepare an essay and presentation to explain what was learned from the internship experience.
+ The assignment will provide the intern with a general understanding of PMO roles and responsibilities as it relates to development and implementation of capital projects at the Port Authority.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
+ Major in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Finance, Business, or a related field
Desired Qualifications
+ Experience with Microsoft Office.
+ Familiarity with Primavera or other scheduling applications
Internship Details
+ The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025
+ The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025
+ This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)
+ The format is expected to be enter hybrid.

Compensation & Benefits
+ The hourly rate range is $17.63 to $29.57(the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
