Job Title: Summer School Instructor - English Language Arts (ELA) (July 2024 - August 2024)

Location: Northside Charter High School

Description:Northside Charter High School is seeking a passionate and skilled instructor to teach English Language Arts (ELA) during our summer school program from July 2024 to August 2024. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in ELA to high school students, focusing on reading comprehension, writing skills, critical thinking, and literary analysis. This position offers an exciting opportunity for educators to inspire students to become effective communicators and lifelong learners.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans that address the ELA curriculum and state standards, incorporating a variety of texts, genres, and writing assignments.

* Facilitate student understanding of literary elements, rhetorical devices, and language conventions through close reading and analysis.

* Provide opportunities for students to practice and improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in authentic contexts.

* Foster a supportive and collaborative classroom environment where students feel empowered to express themselves and engage with challenging texts.

* Assess student progress in reading and writing skills through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to support growth and development.

* Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance learning and promote digital literacy skills.

* Collaborate with colleagues to align instruction and share best practices for teaching ELA.

* Communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and performance in ELA class.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

* Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts (or eligibility for certification).

* Previous experience teaching ELA at the high school level preferred.

* Strong knowledge of ELA curriculum, instructional strategies, and literacy development.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
