Sunday Morning Special Needs SupervisorPosition Summary: The position provides coverage and support on Sunday morningsby overseeing the Special Needs Ministry classrooms.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:-Oversee volunteers, classroom environments, and individual students in the special needs ministry classrooms (In His Image for teens/adults and Lakeview Sensory Room for kids).-Collaborate with Director of Disability Engagement on individualized spiritual plans for students in the special needs ministry.-Adhere to all teaching, discipline, and childcare guidelines as set forth by Bay Presbyterian Children's Ministry.-Support the rest of the Children's Ministry on Sunday morning as needed.Required Skills and Abilities:-A heart for families and students with disabilities and a willingness to serve the Lord.-General knowledge of the practices, methods, and techniques used in special education classrooms and/or willingness to learn best practices.- Ability to physically assist students with disabilities as required (transferring, toileting, etc.)-Previous experience or education in working with children and/or adults with disabilities.-Positive, energetic, and friendly attitude; must be flexible and able to handle a changing environment.Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:-High school diploma or GED-Satisfactory background check required for all positionsPhysical Requirements:- Be capable of physically assisting students with specials needs as required (positioning, lifting, transferring, etc.)
