Is responsible, in consultation with the Manager for the oversight and coordination of direct American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services to deaf/hard of hearing (DHH) as assigned throughout the University to patients, their families and others. SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED: None. MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED: Telephone, video conference equipment, pager and standard office equipment including but not limited to personal computer, copy and fax machines. TYPICAL DUTIES: Schedules appointments for self and interpreting staff to provide interpreting services to deaf/hard of hearing (DHH) patients, their families and others. Schedules on-call interpreter staff to ensure coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Interviews and make recommendations for hire. Trains, supervises and evaluates ASL interpreter staff Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Associate's degree and 3 years of general interpreting experience in a healthcare setting required Or equival...Interpreter, Education
