Are you an experienced leader in asphalt construction? A leading civil construction firm is looking for a skilled and dedicated Asphalt Superintendent to join their team in Houston, Texas. This position offers an opportunity to oversee high-profile heavy highway and county road projects with a company renowned for its commitment to quality and innovation in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of asphalt paving operations, including planning, scheduling, and execution, to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
  • Lead and supervise project teams, including subcontractors, equipment operators, and laborers, maintaining a cohesive and productive work environment.
  • Oversee site safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align project goals and resolve on-site issues effectively.
  • Review plans, specifications, and project requirements to ensure accurate and efficient construction.
  • Monitor material usage, equipment performance, and labor allocation to optimize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and provide regular progress updates to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
  • In-depth knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment for heavy highway and county road construction.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and maintain high performance under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Familiarity with DOT specifications, local regulations, and best practices for road construction.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
