Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work within a team of management, labor supervision, quality control personnel, detailing support, safety experts, and purchasing staff to complete projects in a safe manner at a high-quality level that is within budget.Create a plan to achieve:Safe execution of construction scope.A schedule that conforms to project specified requirements.Proper planning of manpower requirements as needed to perform efficiently within the project schedule.Efficiency plan that prioritizes pre-fabrication and proper utilization of resources (people, equipment, facilities) and results in performance within budget.Ensure that scope of work is performed within the contract document requirements (drawings, specifications, etc.).Inspect and review construction work (during progress and at time of completion) to ensure it conforms to specifications and quality standards. Ensure corrective measures are implemented when violations of safety or quality procedures occur. Possess and utilize technical expertise in the area of mechanical construction.Ensure appropriate level of equipment and safety training of labor staff. Identify hazards and difficult conditions and participate in determining safe and appropriate methods to mitigate.Requisition tools, equipment, material, and consumables needed to complete construction scope.Ability to learn and ensure adherence to pertinent statutes, codes, and laws (including city, state, federal, or any other referenced agency).Be able to interpret and explain plans, specifications, and contract requirements to labor staff, management team, and clients.Formulate reports associated with work progress, labor budget analysis, and scheduling. Report to work as scheduled within the time frames which are set forth by supervisor(s).Ability to interact with Customer, Owners, and other Contractors in a professional manner that appropriately represents the company.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILIES: Must have at least three to five years prior supervisory experience in the construction industry.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Mechanical trade apprenticeship / education is preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS: At least basic knowledge and ability to use simple spreadsheet and letter form programs.
REASONING ABILITY: Execute excellent analytical skills and a strong capability to make sound judgments. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and resolve issues.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Completion of OSHA safety courses.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Meet fitness and strength tests as required. Be able to see well including close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate orally (speak) and perceive sounds (hear).
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Typically work in the main office or a field office on the construction site. Extensive travel between main office and construction sites may be required in order to meet with appropriate personnel on the progress of certain projects. Often on call 24 hours a day, superintendents assist management in dealing with delays, such as the effects of bad weather, or emergencies at the jobsite.
