The City of Egg Harbor is seeking a full time dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as Superintendent of the Department of Public Works (DPW). This is a leadership position critical to maintaining and improving the essential services that sustain our town's infrastructure and quality of life. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing the daily operations of the DPW; road maintenance; snow removal and storm preparedness; maintenance and repair of public buildings and facilities; storm water and sewer systems management, including compliance with state and federal regulations; parks and grounds maintenance, including landscaping and tree care; fleet management; develop and manage the DPW budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with municipal goals; plan and oversee capital improvement projects; supervise, train, and evaluate DPW staff; establish and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and protocols; serve as a liaison to the municipal government, community organizations, and the public on matters related to public works; respond promptly to emergency situations. Minimum Qualifications include a valid NJ Commercial Driver's License (CDL); Certified Public Works Manager (CPWM) certification or ability to obtain in two years; minimum of 5 years of management experience, preferably in a public works or similar operational setting; proven experience managing personnel performing public works duties; strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; familiarity with state and federal regulations governing public works operations; demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and projects effectively; ability to perform manual labor under all weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications include knowledge of municipal government operations; experience with emergency management and disaster preparedness, knowledge of local public bidding and purchasing for the department & proficiency in relevant software for scheduling, budgeting, and project management.
