This position:
- Requires regular travel throughout the state of Wisconsin and requires provision of after-hours crisis management.
- Will be headquartered at one of the central or regional office buildings throughout the state.
- Offers the option to work remotely up to 5 days per week however you will need to go into the office periodically for meetings, events, training, onboarding, and other operational needs.
Position Summary The Supervised Release Program is part of Wisconsin's sexually violent person law (Wis. Stat. ch. 980). Committed sex offenders become patients at Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC). At some point they may have the opportunity to petition their committing court for release. If the court determines an individual has reached a point in their treatment in which they are no longer more likely than not to reoffend, the court may order community living on supervised release. The Supervised Release Program offers many supports aimed at helping a person make a successful transition back to the community, including housing, employment, medication, and continued treatment.As the Section Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Administrative and supervisory responsibility for the staff involved in the coordination of release planning for supervised release in the community.
- Coordination and administrative oversight of the contracts for services of supervised released clients under Chapter 980, Wis. Stats.; and management of the funding and contract administration for services to clients on supervised release.
- Collaboration with supervised release planning staff at SRSTC and with psychology and administrative managers at the facility to ensure that program components including court testimony and other key functions of the supervised release program are accomplished appropriately.
- Training SRSTC staff and outside agencies on the statewide supervised release program.
- Coordination and collaboration with Department of Corrections (DOC) administrative staff as well as other county, state or private agencies and partners on supervised release program issues and planning efforts.
- Leading and facilitating the Supervised Release Oversight Team (SROT) and following through on the Team's recommendations and direction, collaborating with the SROT and DOC on individual case issues and assuming responsibility for final appropriate action.
Salary Information The starting salary is between $43.00 and $48.36 per hour (approximately between $89,400 and $100,500 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 24-month career executive trial period is required.Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Human Services Supervisor and is in pay schedule and range 81/02.

- Mileage reimbursement to the employee's headquarter location is not provided.

Additionally, the driving record must not reflect the following conditions: three or more moving violations and/or at fault accidents in the past two years, an OWI or DUI violation within the past 12 months, or suspension or revocation of the driver's license.
Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Experience in a leadership role (e.g., delegating or assigning work, mentoring and training, leading team projects or workgroups, etc.) .
- Experience with case management duties (e.g., assessing treatment needs, developing and monitoring treatment plans, collaborating with internal and external entities on treatment, etc.).
- Experience working with clients in the criminal justice system who demonstrate behavioral health needs or are diagnosed with mental health issues.
- Experience evaluating programs or processes and making recommendations for improvement.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience working with individuals who have sex offense histories.
- Experience conducting public informational meetings.
- Experience with procurement of services (e.g., writing Requests for Bid (RFB) or Requests for Proposal (RFP) documents, monitoring contractual services, consulting on service delivery issues, etc.).
- Experience in a formal supervisory or management role (e.g., establishing work goals, conducting performance evaluations, hiring, administering discipline, etc.).
