Aircraft Services Team - Bell Piney Flats

Bring your experience and expertise and help lead the Bell Piney Flats Aircraft Services Team. This position will supervise personnel in daily operations. The position will include direct responsibility for leads, A&P certified mechanics, sheet metal mechanics, interiors personnel, and avionics personnel.

What you'll be doing as Supervisor Aircraft Services

* Train and monitor personnel to ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines, to include Repair Station procedures, FOD controls, the use of appropriate technical data, and proper maintenance practices.

* Supervise, lead, and direct the work of shop floor personnel. Enable direct reports to do the work by monitoring, coaching, acquiring resources, problem solving, communicating, and empowering employees to take initiative. Understand capabilities and career aspirations of direct reports to plan for and guide their development.

* Recognize and reward employees' contributions, and provide constructive feedback to improve their performance. Conduct or assist with interviews, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as required.

* Collaborate with other supervisors to share personnel resources, and to ensure aircraft work is completed safety, compliantly, and on schedule. Maintain open communication with CEM and other internal parties concerning project status. When needed, arrange for assistance from other departments and/or outside vendors on component repairs.

* Oversee and ensure aircraft requiring teardown are completed efficiently and correctly. Oversee maintenance and repairs to ensure they are done correctly and safely. Prior to returning aircraft to service or closing related work orders, ensure work order book is fully complete and to include all required signoffs. Oversee upkeep of shop equipment and tools and cleanliness of workstations.

* Ensure quoted hours and schedule are met.

* Work closely with Logistics and Procurement to ensure parts required for work operations are ordered and scheduled to meet necessary timelines.

* Guide aircraft troubleshooting for team and/or customers as required by offering subject matter expertise. Offer technical guidance to other departments inside of Bell as needed.

Skills You Bring To this Role

* Thorough understanding of FAA regulations, policies, and guidelines to include CFRs and FAA requirements for 145 Repair Stations.

* Extensive working knowledge and experience on Bell helicopters.

* Ability to determine the airworthiness of aircraft by researching aircraft records.

* Ability to assist customer with aircraft troubleshooting as needed.

* Familiarity with customer expectations, Bell & Textron policies, and business practices.

* Strong customer focus and drive for results.

* Ability to supervise, motivate, and develop others.

* Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other teams on projects.

* High attention to detail.

* Strong sense of accountability and ability to own results.

* Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

What you need to be successful

* High School Diploma or GED

* FAA A&P Certification

* 5 years' experience related to aircraft maintenance operations.

* Demonstrated leadership experience.

Preferred

* Bachelor's degree in aviation, business or related field of study.

* 5 years' experience maintaining or working with Bell aircraft.

* 2 years supervising others.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and to team lift up to 50 lbs.

* Ability to perform prolonged kneeling, squatting, sitting, crawling, and climbing stairs, ladders and work stands

* Ability to stand for extended periods during the entire duration of shift

* Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools

* Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks

* Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects

* Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and potential issues

* Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed

* Ability to use basic office equipment (phone, mouse, keyboard, and related software)
