UPMC Jameson is currently looking for a Full Time Supervisor to support our Children's Advocacy Center. The Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) of Lawrence County is a multi-purpose, kid- and family-friendly, private nonprofit agency. The CAC strives to stop child abuse and inspire hope through intervention, prevention, education, and community outreach. This position will primarily be Monday- Friday daylight shifts.
Part of this position's responsibility will be administering the intervention part of the Children's Advocacy Center; this role will be the primary Forensic Interviewer so must be comfortable working with children who have been sexually and/or physically abused.
Master's degree in education, child development, social work, psychology or related field is a plus!
Candidates with prior law enforcement experience and/or great collaborative skills are encouraged to apply!
Purpose:
The supervisor is responsible for the administration of their assigned program areas, including program design and management, oversight of record-keeping and monitoring systems and development of community partnerships. Work in collaboration with program coordinators. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
* Provide oversight, direction, and supervision of program/staff including monitoring, staffing, performance evaluation, problem-solving, and corrective actions of center staff.
* Monitors home visits to ensure ongoing communication regarding child progress and goals.
* Participates in conducting home visit and socializations as necessary.
* Promote best practices in early childhood development based on Performance Standards.
* Maintains current knowledge of teaching techniques through child development classes, workshops, and membership in professional organizations. Prepares and maintains necessary and mandated records and related documents.
* Participate in training/orientation of new staff and maintain support as needed while they gain knowledge of their role and the responsibilities of their position.
* Coordinate and provide training, and guidance to staff, parents, and community on a variety of pertinent topics based on program outcomes/demonstrated needs, school readiness goals, child/family data and regulatory requirements.
* Coaches/mentors assigned staff regarding curriculum implementation and program goals, including modeling appropriate methods, materials, and accepted practices.
* Develops/monitors Professional Development Goals for all staff.
* Responsible for reviewing/approving timesheets, work orders, purchase orders, and other supporting documentation.
* Conduct on-going monitoring visits, tracking, follow-up and analysis of comprehensive service delivery and child outcomes including disabilities, mental health, nutrition, health and family services.
* Maintain and monitor record keeping and reporting systems, including schedules, timelines, policies and procedures for services in accordance with program standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
* Collaborate with state and community partners as needed to enhance program services, and to ensure effective transition planning for children and their families.
* Serves as primary forensic interviewer for child abuse allegations.
* Assists with grant development and implementation for all CAC intervention projects.
* Lead and manage marketing initiatives and special events, including key programs such as Child Abuse Prevention Month, the SHINE campaign, social media content (e.g., Facebook posts), and other assigned initiatives/events
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education, child development, social work, psychology or related field.
Prefer experience in program and supervision.
