Position Summary The Supervisor, Materials Management supports the Materials Manager with planning, supervising, and controlling the day-to-day operations and services provided by the Materials Management Department at their assigned campus. Responsibilities include assignment of employees to tasks and reassigns, as necessary, to reflect changes in staffing requirements, census or nursing needs or as directed by management. This position is primarily engaged in supervisory duties, such as managing the staff and department operations. This position has the authority to interview and recommend hiring staff, ongoing performance including coaching of employees and direct involvement in the progressive discipline process and recommend terminations of employees in the Materials Department. Oversees all QA projects, verify all required documentation is completed relating to JCAHO, AAMI, DHS and OSHA standards. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
  • Provides direct supervision of a team of non-exempt staff, including shift schedule development, timecard approvals, performance evaluations, and corrective actions. Ensures compliance with State and wage & hour requirements including timecard responsibilities in the timekeeping system.
  • Plan, organize, supervise and participate in daily operation and activities, including the receipt, documentation, storage, safety and distribution of equipment and supplies and maintenance of inventory.
  • Provides training and education to staff members on new equipment, procedures, and operational enhancements to ensure all staff remain informed of all changes.
  • Route, schedule, pack and prepare orders for delivery; load vehicles; schedule and oversee deliveries and pick-ups. Supervise the processing of requisitions and requests to invoice for reimbursements of warehouse codes; complete requisitions for needed materials to assure adequate stock levels.
  • Operate and demonstrate use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary; assure proper and routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Observe health and safety regulations; maintain work areas in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
  • Manage a visibility board which includes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including fill rates, Stock outs Backorders, Receiving Exceptions and others to support continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the implementation inventory management processes at the point of care across all acute care facilities.
  • Ensures regulatory requirements are met in accordance with 3rd Party (Ex. TJC, DNV), Local, State and Federal guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.   • Minimum 5 Years experience in Materials Management in a Healthcare setting.
  • Excellent verbal / written communication and inter-personal skills. Strong customer service focus.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to systematically analyze issues, and development of corrective actions that permanently eliminate recurring problems.
  • Computer Skills including Microsoft Excel, Office and knowledge of Inventory Management / ERP systems.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
  • Highschool Diploma
  • Associated Degree or other Supply Chain Certification (Ex. CPIM, CPSM)
  • Forklift Certification and Experience
