Job Summary
The Clinical Nutrition Supervisor is responsible for participating in and supervising the nutrition support service process related to the Clinical Nutrition Department. The Clinical Nutrition Supervisor is responsible for training the dietitians for accurate documentation for quality initiatives such as malnutrition.The Clinical Nutrition Supervisor provides patient nutrition care. Conducts nutrition support research and serves as a resource for clinical nutrition topics for the dietitians and other disciplines. Accountabilities
- Supervises the nutrition support service team processes and adult care dietitians. 30%
- Provides patient nutrition care. 30%
- Trains the adult care dietitians on accurate documentation of malnutrition to ensure quality measures are met for reimbursement.10%
- Serves as an expert resource on clinical nutrition topics and provides information to dietitians and other disciplines. 10%
- Prepares the schedule for the adult care dietitians to accommodate nutrition support and patient care needs. 5%
- Participates in quality patient care committees as needed. 5%
- Collaborates with the Manager of Clinical Nutrition & Informatics on team member performance. 5%
- Conducts nutrition support research. 5%
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
- Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health Company or affiliate and will have direct reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree from an Academy of Dietetics (AND) accredited institution and/or approved internship program
- Minimum Experience: 1 year Clinical Nutrition experience in Inpatient/Outpatient Care.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
- Commission on Dietetic Registration certified RD/RDN
- South Carolina Dietetic Licensure
- Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSC) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
- Maintain 75 hours of continuing education every 5 years - required
- Knowledge of AND, Joint Commission, department of Health and Environmental Control and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. - required
- Computer knowledge and skills - required
