Summary
  • Position Summary
    • The Contracts Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day review and management of contracts for Academic Affairs. This position will primarily work on education-related contracts but may have other contracting responsibilities in Academic Affairs including in the Research and Innovation departments. This is an independent position that reports directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and works closely with the Department of Medical Education Leadership and operations teams in addition to the MaineHealth Legal Affairs team. This is a full time temporary position that may lead to a permanent appointment.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
    • License/Certifications: ABA-approved paralegal certificate, or other comparable legal experience preferred.
    • Experience: At least three (3) years of experience with reviewing, negotiating, drafting and managing contracts is required. Experience in research or healthcare setting preferred.
    • Thorough understanding of contract management process, including tracking, negotiation, approval and signature processes. Ability to assess and interpret contract provisions, make independent decisions & recommendations, and implement solutions.
    • Knowledge of laws, regulations and other requirements that impact business operations and contracts, preferably in the research setting.
    • Has clear and concise verbal and written communication skills; must be detail-oriented and have strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel).
