Job Title: Supervisor - Energy Control SystemsDepartment: Energy Control SystemsReports to: Manager - Energy Control SystemsLocation: In Office, Augusta METhe base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $128,833.60 - $161,042JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education& Experience Required:Minimum 6 years of experience in Engineering and 4 years of experience in EMS/SCADA System Energy Control System.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.Master's Degree in Engineering preferred.Knowledge of Electrical theory. Experience and advanced knowledge of database development, support, and programming experience. Strong administrative, SAP, or Similar application, and supervisory experience.Knowledge of national and international standards, regulations, and compliance requirements associated with the EMS system.Skills/Abilities:Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.Strong background in SCADA, preferably EMS. Siemens Spectrum/ ABB/ GE platforms preferred.Knowledge of one or more of the following EMS-related systems; Outage Management System, Distribution Management System, Transmission/Distribution Network Analysis, and/or Geographical Information System.Technical background with knowledge in technical hardware, architecture, Linux/Unix/Windows Operating System familiarity, networking, and topology, and understanding of high-level network and security concepts.Knowledge of security areas such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, continuous security monitoring, centralized log management, network switches, network routers, network design, VPN implementation, TCP/IP communication, performing information security assessments, computer forensics, anti-virus, patch evaluation, event monitoring systems, and network analysis.Knowledge of products such as Sun (Oracle, SQL, and Solaris), IBM, Microsoft, Cisco technologies and products, and Open-Source products (Linux).Experience and proactive mind to coordinate teams and the capacity to lead discussions with management and technical teams within Avangrid EMS/SCADA Teams to meet priorities and resolve issues.Experience with information security practices related to NERC CIP, IT, Application, and Network Security.Strong understanding of Energy Control Centers, Electric Operations, Substation Environments, and devices.Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and other business analytical tools.Results-oriented and proactive, with strong project management skills.Proven ability to solve complex technical issues and present complex information in an understandable compelling manner.Must possess good verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to work with all levels of the organization professionally.High level of organizational, budgetary, forecasting, and department planning skills.JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for managing internal engineers and external contractors. Reports to the Manager of the Energy Management System. The supervisor will set policies, and procedures, document standards, and oversee engineering activities for EMS (Energy Management System) and SCADA environment to ensure safe, timely, and efficient system operation.Coordinates assigns responsibilities and provides organizational management over technical and application solutions that satisfy diverse Operational Centers, process owners, compliance and regulatory requirements, and EMS technical requirements to meet strategic business plans.Recommends and fulfills staffing requirements and maintains staff skills through self and external training to meet the development, support, and service requirement needs of EMS and SCADA Systems within Operational Smart Grids.MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides Staff Supervision over and participates in leading the design and technical enhancements in the Energy Management Systems, back-office environments, and other applications for the EMS and SCADA Systems requirements within Operational Smart Grids.Participates in and supervises an advanced technical team that develops technical solutions and/or configuration changes to meet ongoing requirements.Participates in and supervises an advanced technical team that performs Energy Management System database development and administration, database conversions and upgrades, development work, and application development against complex databases within the EMS environments and associated systems.Responsible for prioritizing technical implementation of applications, coordinating technical system upgrades, and technical issue resolution with vendors.Responsible for leading lifecycle projects; plans, coordinates, communicates, and executes while leading cross-functional teams as required.Leads team in creating and maintaining technical documentation, change management principles, system performance trend analysis and integration of technical components, training, and compliance material.Responsible for managing 24/7 availability of EMS/SCADA /Back Office applications in the Control Center environment through daily support and through developed processes and procedures to be used by the support team.Leads coordination with end users and process owners to understand ongoing requirements (changes, modifications, improvements).Provide guidance, supervision, and mentoring over complex technical problems and provide training to other business areas and co-workers.As a supervisor, responsible for assigning responsibilities and delivering robust enterprise solutions to address operational and business needs.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending training, participating in user group meetings, and working collectively to support various business areas.Provides Supervision over and participates in Disaster Recovery, storm events and other duties as assigned.Preferred Qualifications:Prior supervisory experience.Master's Degree in Engineering.SCADA/EMS experience with Siemens Spectrum/ ABB/ GE platforms.Mobility Information:Please note that any applicant who is not a citizen of the country of the vacancy will be subject to compliance with the applicable immigration requirements to legally work in that country.AVANGRID's employment practices and policies are geared to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture.#J-18808-Ljbffr
