The Opportunity

Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for a Supervisor, Engineering Lab for our Irving, TX location. The Supervisor, Engineering Lab will be responsible providing leadership for employees to maintain laboratory compliance and the required documentation to support investigation, feasibility, and verification activities.

What You'll Work On

  • Provides leadership (training, development, monitoring) for employees that maintain laboratory compliance (e.g. laboratory inventory such as materials and parts), scheduling, environmental monitoring, instrument resource allocation, audit readiness, service orders, maintenance (internal and external), equipment compliance (Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) and preventive maintenance (PM) tracking etc.) and the subsequent documentation required to support investigation, feasibility, and verification activities.
  • Laboratory compliance is obtained through 5s, Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP), log review and archiving, and instrument configuration control. Utilizing electronic systems (e.g. - Maximo) for maintenance of equipment control both internal and external via calibration, asset tags, location, etc.
  • Direct the day-to-day activities of the engineering technicians. Maintain high level of visibility with technician staff. Use hands-on approach to communicate daily and involve production staff in problem solving.
  • Ensure the desired product quality levels are achieved through use of standard work, training, and inspection techniques. Appropriately staff trained and skilled individuals to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Utilize expertise to address reoccurring problems and take corrective action to make process improvements.
  • Promotes collaboration with various systems, assay, engineering, and instrument support departments/teams (e.g., systems integration, quality engineering, assay and instrument design, on-market support, software, technology) through knowledge of the interaction between departments/teams and how their products/processes affect one another and impact processes (e.g., Assay Development, Operations, Business, Quality, Regulatory, Quality Engineering).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Min 4 years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM preferred.
  • Other qualifications/certifications: Demonstrated level of technical expertise working with diagnostic equipment and/or instrumentation.

The base pay for this position is $57,300.00 – $114,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
