What's the role?
As a Field Technician Supervisor, you will coordinate and lead daily fixed wireless and fiber installations and maintenance services. You will be responsible for performing specialized technical duties in the repair, maintenance and installation of Liberty's fixed and fiber optic network and will also be responsible for coordinating the daily tasks and providing training for the fixed and fiber optic field technicians who perform installation, repair, maintenance of fixed radios and construction and cable splicing. Supervise the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of switches, cables, and other telecommunications equipment in the field to ensure optimum network usage and quality. Use attention to detail to conduct thorough inspections of ongoing and completed work, and to search for imperfections that may compromise the finished project. Make day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Review and assist in inventory and record keeping of materials and tools used by team. Travel to St. John, Water Island, St. Croix St. Thomas when needed for further training or support. Installation, repair & maintenance of products and services (B2C & B2B) Support and oversee installation and repair contractors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Prepare documentation for fiber splicing, cores, enclosures, and optical cable transmission layouts as per the FCC standard methodologies.
* Lead the installation and Survey of Fiber Pops for our network expansion.
* Ensure that all field operations activities are in compliance with company and OSHA safety rules, regulations, and applicable laws.
* Prepares and analyzes daily reports regarding service, repair, and system maintenance activities.
* Knowledge of FTTH installations aerial and underground.
* Schedule and direct all equipment installation and troubleshooting tasks performed by field staff; reviews outstanding trouble tickets and other problem reports to direct and prioritize staff; orders all equipment and supplies to support network projects.
* Lead projects and provide vision and technical direction to watch and ensure timely completion of projects by defining task scope and task lists, providing design mentorship, implementation and test plans, and other required coordination.
* Monitor network performance, capacity, history, baseline statistics, and problems, and prepares reports on all areas of network operation; prepares inventory and other utilization and accounting reports.
* Available to assist in system outages after natural disasters such as hurricanes on 24/7 schedules, if needed. Participate on a on call program.
* Learn and implement new products and train others on your team.
* Supplement for field staff if they are on vacation or call out doing their service calls.
* Approve timesheets and vacations submitted by field technicians they supervise.
* Demonstrate and ensure compliance with the Customer First Philosophy, all Liberty Latin America's policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct and Liberty safety standards and procedures.
* Other functions may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervise and provide mentorship to a group of employees in the Field Technician Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
What do you need?
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent.
3 - 6 years of experience field technician roles. Supervisor experience preferred.
Other Qualifications:
* Ability to work qualifications: effectively in a team oriented, high demand and dynamic environment.
* Solid written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of the standards, materials, techniques, and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic equipment.
* Knowledge of National Electrical Codes, FCC regulations and telecommunications transportation.
* Domain in electrical and electronics.
* Good analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
* Confirmed ability to prioritize multiple tasks/projects at a time.
* Willing to travel.
* Valid driver's license.
* Basic understanding of the TCP/IP layers.
* Ability to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers in the installation of cable to the residence or business.
* Basic knowledge in using software tools to support the current operations, knowledge in basic network devices and network appliances.
* Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices.
