Overview You should be inspired by what you do! Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924 CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you'll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery a level II neonatal intensive care unit a nationally accredited cancer center comprehensive neurosurgery advanced orthopedic program and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.
Responsibilities Essential Key Job Responsibilities- Has the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train and conduct performance evaluations.
- Assigns day-to-day work activities; directs the functional and technical job performance of team members.
- Allocate and direct staffing needs to meet patient, unit, and department needs, and collaborate with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met.
- Manage performance including: setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognize, developing skills and addressing performance issues related to work and our Commitments using corrective action.
- Ensures proper staffing is scheduled and /or available to perform daily activities in areas of responsibility. Develops and posts employees schedules according to department policy. Coordinates and oversee the daily and weekly activities/tasks are performed by staff in areas of responsibility. Updates and communicates job-flow changes of positions in areas of responsibility.
- Interacts with nursing on any issues, changes and or educational needs. Exhibits pleasant and cheerful demeanor and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients and visitors. Visits patients on floors and helps ensure that their service and experience are agreeable. Adheres to facility confidentiality and patient's rights policy as outlined in the facility's HIPAA policies and procedures. Contributes to patient and customer satisfaction goals by providing quality service to patients.
- Maintains a clean, sanitary working environment. Ensures proper safety regulations are followed. Completes all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined on a timely basis meeting all prescribed deadlines.
- Participates in all safety, security and infection control programs that are mandatory as well as those required and provided by the department. Ensures compliance with all Nebraska Department of Health, Federal, State, and County Health lays, as well as JCAHO and CMS guidelines. Demonstrates work practices consistent with MBO and department-specific safety, security and infection control policies. Must have ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.

Qualifications What You'll Need:- Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 1 year OR 3 years experience
- Person preferably have strong knowledge of Environmental Services
- Excellent Customer Service and Computer Skills
