General Summary of PositionOversees the day-to-day operations of our life support instructors in order to provide high-quality training courses. This role supervises, educates, coaches, and inspires our Instructors to ensure compliance with our various accrediting agencies. Provideslife-support training alongside our Instructors and performs equipment assessments, customer service basic maintenance, and inspections as needed. Assists, as needed, with the planning and coordination of training courses MedStar SiTEL provides both internally and externally to our healthcare system. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises a team of Instructors in complying with regulatory guidelines and providing quality training.Teaches instructor certification courses and provides, as required, additional proficiency-related instructor training.Completes the Performance Reviews for the team of instructors including disciplinary counseling and actions as necessary.Assists in the preparation of project presentations, under the guidance of the training center coordinator or department leadership.Plans and coordinates for all life support courses as directed by department leadership.Maintains familiarity with certification guidelines to ensure compliance by the instructor team.Maintains personal certifications to comply with requisite duties and responsibilities.Provides recommendations for budget and purchase of equipment, supplies, and materials.Teaches, coaches, and mentors subordinate instructors. Minimum Qualifications Education
- Associate degree required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience
- 4 years of instructor or educational delivery experience required
- 1-2 years Management and/or supervisor responsibilities preferred
- Hospital or clinical experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- AHA BLS Instructor - AHABLSI American Heart Association BLS Instructor certification required
- Health Services/ACLS INSTRC - ACLS Instructor American Heart Association ACLS Instructor certification required
- Health Services/PALS INSTRC - PALS Instructor American Heart Association PALS Instructor certification preferred
- Health Services\RP INSTRC - NRP Instructor American Heart Association Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor certification preferred
