About The Position The Supervisor Meter directs the work of Ameren Illinois Utilities electric field metering personnel to coordinate work with operating personnel, customer service personnel, customers and to ensure than all tasks are performed safely and in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations, and Ameren requirements.
The position will be located in the Southern Region; the exact location will depend on the candidate's location.
Key responsibilities include: * Direct the work of Electric Meter field personnel (Journeymen, Electronic Technicians, Instrument Technicians and Apprentices) to assure that meter testing, repairs, programming and all associated field activities are performed safely and accurately and in compliance with ICC 83 Ill. Adm. Code Part 410; American National Standard for Electric Meters, ANSI C12.1-1995; ASTM Standards Sec 10; and Ameren policies & procedures. Ensure that all work is effectively and efficiently scheduled and completed to provide excellent customer service. * Plan and coordinate the exchange and tests of meters required by annual periodic and sample testing programs. * Ensure that all work is effectively and efficiently scheduled to provide excellent customer service. * Ensure that field working standards are in compliance with Ill. Admin Code Part 410 and Ameren policies. * Continually review processes, procedures, and equipment application to determine if improvements can be made to control costs and improve productivity. * Coordinate with engineering, customer service, filed service representatives, training, field operations, MDF, meter shops and meter services personnel as required. * Apply Meter Safety Programs to field metering operations. * Assist, promote, and guide the Illinois Metering Services Safety Committee. Uphold and enforce all of Ameren's policies and procedures. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Certificate in electrical technology from an accredited two year technical school preferred. Five or more years experience as a journeyman meterman or equivalent required (experience working with electric metering may also be evaluated for consideration). In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Good decision-making, leadership (including safety and quality), communication, and human relations skills. Working knowledge of OAS, CSS, and MMS computer systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications Word and Excel, strongly preferred. Additional Information Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates. Considerable travel is expected with occasional weekday lodging required throughout Illinois.
