DHR Health - US:TX:Edinburg - DaysSummary:The Supervisor of counseling services will develop and run all aspects of an Intensive Outpatient Program and /or Partial Hospital Program that may include an Adolescent Substance Treatment Program; as well as other projects. This individualwill provide clinical supervision of the Behavioral Therapists, both inpatient and outpatient and will be responsible for the overall direction of the department. The individual will fill in staff needs by providing psychosocial assessments, individual, family and group therapy. The individual is expected to function as a member of the multidisciplinary team and to participate in the unit's community relations program.
POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS: - Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage, Family, Child Counselor or license eligible in Texas
- Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, counseling psychology or other social services degree from an accredited university
- Current BCLS or Certification within 3 months of hire date
- CPI training within 30 days of hire date
- Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
- Good written and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians
- Prefer hospital experience
Responsibilities:
- Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices
- Ensures the services are adequately, completely and competently staffed in accordance with budgeted plan; and personnel are appropriately trained and supervised
- Coordinates service delivery of groups, appointments, therapeutic interventions and assures safe and efficient functioning for all areas of responsibility.
- Facilitates resolution of problems in collaboration with Director of Behavioral Health Social Services, Director of Psychiatric Nursing, medical staff, other hospital departments, Clinical Managers and other community organizations as appropriate.
- The Manager is responsible for overseeing clinic operations and social services delivered to psychiatric patients, which includes development, implementation, and evaluation of services
- Ensures services provided are in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements with consideration to timely meeting licensure/certification, mandated training and continued professional growth requirements by all personnel.
- Collaborates with other Clinical Managers by providing data, feedback, and recommendations regarding operation, review, and adherence to the programs operating and capital budgets for unit programs.
- Assists in the preparation of the budget. Maintains accountability to include adequate and appropriate staffing patterns, supplies, equipment and physical facilities to meet the patients' needs.
- Responsible for selecting and hiring personnel for programs within the Department. Evaluates social work and activity therapy personnel work performance, counsels staff, and initiates disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Documents findings accurately and in a timely manner and formulate the plan of care based on findings
- Ability to represent the program well in interactions both inside and outside the hospital
- Complete family session within 24 hours of patient admission unless adequate justification for delay is documented.
- Completes discharge plans for patients with existing support systems.

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:- Five years experience working with child; adolescent, adult and geriatric psychiatric patients
- Prior experience in program development and management
- Prior substance abuse treatment experience
- Additional language preferred. Spanish helpful.
- Ability to work productively and effectively with minimal need for supervision.
