FTE: 1.000000 Shift: Shift 2 Job Summary: Under the direction of the Transport Manager and according to established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, this individual is responsible for the daily coordination of Transport activities to assure that Transport functions are carried out in a manner that supports established customer service standards and expectations. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 1 year of formal leadership experience is required. In lieu of formal leadership experience, 3 years of transport or hospital experience or a Bachelor's degree in Business or a Healthcare related field will be accepted. Knowledge of Patient Transport operations preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Requires computer skills to facilitate use of electronic patient transport tracking system and development and maintenance of monthly department statistics. Ability to move patients to and from transport vehicles, and transport patients in beds, carts, and wheelchairs. Requires pushing and pulling of various types of medical equipment and supplies weighing up to 200 lbs. Ability to assist in the moving of patients of variable weights up to 900 pounds. Requires standing and walking at least 50% of the time to adequately monitor the activities of staff. Demonstrates analytical and organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict management/resolution skills. Demonstrates integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others. Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership. Ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external patients/customers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
