Please follow this link for a closer look at what it's like to work at Children's Wisconsin: ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY: The Ancillary Registration areas assist patient families who are accessing Children's Wisconsin services which include patient scheduling and registration, support of the entire check-in process, collecting CoPays and ensuring patient demographics are current. There is also hands on support of our kiosk check in functionality.
- Under the direction of the Admitting & Registration Services Manager - Ancillary Registration, this position will supervise and respond to the day to day activities of the front desk.
- This includes, but is not limited to, providing leadership, direction and support in staffing the Ancillary Front Desk operations for ARS. Primary responsibilities include development of policies, procedures, and protocols, staffing plans, schedules, payroll, quality assurance, performance reviews, and coaching and development of staff.
- This position works collaboratively with all levels of staff and leadership in addition to patient families to achieve goals set forth by Patient Access leadership and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the Children's Organizational Code of Ethics and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to Children's business.
EDUCATION - Associate Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE- Requires 3 years of experience in an inpatient and/or outpatient healthcare setting, necessary in order to hold comprehensive knowledge of registration, scheduling, and insurance plans and to problem solve general needs of staff, patients, physicians, and all other customers.
- Previous leadership experience or demonstrated advancement through progressive growth in responsibilities and assignments within the department.
- Prior experience leading and working with teams and data collection and analysis as well as the proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously preferred.
- Experience with human resource related responsibilities preferred (i.e. performance reviews, hiring, coaching/counseling).
- Prior experience working in a Windows environment.
SKILLS - Ability to understand and relate well to children. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be able to utilize multiple modules within Epic to support the needs of patients, families, and physicians.
- Ability to navigate, coordinate multiple services, be flexible in prioritizing, and multi-tasking to meet the needs of the patients, families, physicians, and other hospital staff.
- Ability to problem solve, provide assistance, and make recommendations for change. Excellent organizational, analytical, and prioritizing skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks done simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to handle difficult situations by using problem solving skills.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills in order to serve a variety of people and to handle interactions in an efficient, accurate, professional, and pleasant manner.
- Normal office environment where there is no reasonable potential for exposure to blood or other high risk body fluids.
