JOB SUMMARY Works under general supervision to the Manager of Transport to facilitate departmental needs assessment and designs training programs that align with departmental learning objectives, using adult learning principles and best practices. Knowledge of patient safety, basic transportation equipment, infection control processes, clerical skills, excellent telephone etiquette, and good communication and organizational skills.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required- Education
High School Diploma or GED or

2 years Of supervisory experience and 2 years Experience with patient transportation, equipment maintenance or other patient care related activities.
- Licenses and Certifications
BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
PreferredJOB DUTIES - Maintains friendly, efficient service attitude towards all staff, colleagues and patients.
- Produce training materials and individual learning plans for Lead Patient Transporters & Patient Transporters. Amends and revises programs as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment.
- Conducts departmental orientation sessions for all new Patient Transport employees, provides performance feedback and ensures that all new employees have the skills and training needed to perform their job.
- Works with department Manager to solve specific training problems, conducts training appraisals at regular intervals. Directs and supervises the delivery of training and development programs. Maintains training records.
- Builds solid working relationships with all Patient Transporters, Lead Patient Transporters and all Supervisors. Responsible for coaching, counseling, and formal discipline of Patient Transporters and Lead Patient Transporters as it relates to training.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, uses discretion to make decisions or seeks advice from Manager.
- Demonstrates attention to detail, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, follows policies and procedures, responds to management direction and arrives to work, meetings and appointments on time.
- Communicates changes effectively, prepares and supports those affected by change, monitors transition and evaluates results and applies feedback to improve performance.
- Functions in all Patient Transport locations, rotates with leadership staff to provide weekend and holiday coverage or at any time if needed.
- Must be able to work as a Transporter on the floor if needed.
- Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with UTSW and departmental policy.
- Participates in Monthly Meetings and/or educational activities.
