Job DescriptionYOUR ROLE: As a supervisor of the Asset Protection (AP) team, you will oversee the Ottawa Distribution Center (DC) security program to foster a secure and safe work environment. Your primary focus will be to safeguard all company assets and the physical security of American Eagle Outfitters' 1.2 million square foot facility. As the security supervisor, you will collaborate closely with the security manager to accomplish departmental and organizational objectives.ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise the on-site security staff on daily responsibilities such as building access, parking lot issues, visitor sign-in/out, etc.
  • Train and supervise AP and security staff to ensure ongoing professional development.
  • Enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Oversee access control, CCTV, perimeter alarms, trailer storage lots, etc.
  • Coordinate or conduct investigations in partnership with the security manager.
  • Plan for, prepare for and respond to all emergency events that occur at the DC.
  • Conduct regular security audits of the DC and oversee corrective action plans to correct identified deficiencies.
  • Communicate all security issues to Asset Protection Department Leadership.
  • Promote and maintain a high level of morale and security awareness within the DC.
  • Make recommendations to Asset Protection leadership on security program improvements.
  • Anticipate potential security-related issues and assist in the development of response plans.
  • Act as a liaison for local authorities and emergency management agencies.
  • Maintain security metrics for the Ottawa DC.
  • Co-lead security department meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum four years of security supervisory experience, and/or related military experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Google applications
  • Demonstrate collaborative skills and must work well within a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting
  • Preferred bi-lingual in Spanish and English

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
