Positions in this function directs, supervises, and coordinates staff and activities at assigned senior center to ensure the delivery of quality patient service. This position ensures staff complies with all regulatory initiatives and policies and procedures and works with senior management to support effective center operations. Primary Responsibilities:
- Directs, supervises, and manages all functions and activities of the Senior Center, including systems, policies and procedures, human resources, support services, etc.
- Plans, organizes, and administers a community recreation program for Senior adults, including physical activities, health activities, human services, and special interest classes and programs
- Coordinates staff work activities and monthly schedules in a timely manner
- Center monthly calendar is in place ahead of time for seniors to review and sign up
- Selects, trains, motivates, and schedules Senior Center Staff and volunteers
- Ensures that space, supplies, assistance are provided and maintained appropriately for senior members and volunteers
- Promotes the provision of cost-effective high-quality member services to visitors, members, and volunteers
- Represents the Senior Center at public and professional meetings and conferences. Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep pace with trends in Senior related activities
- Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions, assists in interviews, trains, and orients staff under the direction of the Regional Manager
- Maintains senior member data base(s) effectively. Produces monthly reports to show membership statistics

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of fitness center operations, senior center operations, community center operations or healthcare operations experience, including 1+ years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and ability to apply principles to solve everyday problems in a variety of situations
- Knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management techniques
- Knowledge of office management techniques and practices
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
- Computer literacy
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of fitness center operations or senior center operations, including 3+ years of supervisory experience
- Proven skill in gathering, analyzing, and evaluating data
- Proven skill in written and verbal communication
- Proven ability to exercise initiative, problem solving, decision-making
- Proven ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities
- Proven affective communication and customer service skills
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift to 100 pounds
- Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 300 pounds of force
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
