POSITION SUMMARY:The Radiology Technology Supervisor will assist the Radiology Management team with the operational, financial and personnel activities of the Radiology Department. The Supervisor will also assist with the compliance of all JCAHO standards, help maintain section competencies and confirm credentials stay current and up to date. The Supervisor will actively participate with Performance Improvement projects and communicate necessary information to staff members.POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited radiology program. Current state certification (TDH) required. Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) general certification required. BLS certification preferred. Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues. Secretarial experience and organizational skills are necessary. Good verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to read, write, and speak English required. Spanish preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians. Hospital experience preferred. Computer knowledge required.JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Three-Five (3-5) years experience in a healthcare setting as Radiology Tech. Three (3) years experience as a supervisor/manager Able to demonstrate competent levels of radiological procedures and must be knowledgeable with multiple modalities. Demonstrates accuracy, and the ability to closely follow established procedures. Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment. Requires working with frequent interruptions. Must project a professional image. Must have excellent customer service skills. High degree of competency/experience in general. Requires good communication and organizational skills. Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices Assists in the management of staffing hours and reduction of overtime hours. Responsible for working with the Radiologists in implementing new protocols and communicating new protocols with staff. Responsible for monitoring technologist's credentials. Responsible for monitoring Employee Health compliance Represent and participate in appropriate hospital committee activities. Responsible for the selection, interviewing and evaluation of staff. Assist in monitoring departmental operations and objectives to ensure the most effective services are being provided. Collaborate with other departments to ensure deliver of quality services. Able to perform the necessary functions on the facility's computer system. Accountable for ordering departmental supplies as necessary. Assists with the department orientation of new employees. Provides continuous training and communicates changes to employees. Recommends changes in department policies and procedures to Director. Leads in a way which motivates employees. Participates with the counseling of staff, including write-ups and terminations. Assists with patient and physician complains, performs service recovery. Confer with physicians and other department mangers to resolve operational problems and promote communications and good guest relations with patients and the public. Other duties as assigned.
