Join a team of IT professionals working on critical ISO New England computer applications. This position will work on a wide variety of applications and technologies in a focused and dynamic team environment.

How you will make an Impact

  • Leadership: Lead the design and execution of testing strategies across both on-premise and AWS cloud systems, ensuring integration and performance meet high standards.
  • Champion Business Alignment: Work closely with business stakeholders, development teams the PMO to ensure testing initiatives align with organizational goals and project deadlines.
  • Advance Cloud Adoption: Support the company's AWS cloud journey while maintaining strong testing processes for on-premise environments, balancing traditional and modern architectures.
  • Automation Innovation: Drive the implementation of advanced automated testing frameworks, improving efficiency and accuracy across hybrid infrastructure.
  • Foster Talent Development: Mentor and guide your team, cultivating an environment of innovation, learning, and excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of Software Test Engineers, providing technical direction and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Enhance and expand the TestOps program, incorporating best practices and advanced tools tailored to both on-premise and AWS cloud systems.
  • Oversee the development and continuous improvement of automated testing frameworks for applications running in hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Ensure the testing processes are robust and adaptable, addressing the needs of both on-premise and AWS cloud applications.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and the PMO to ensure testing activities align with business objectives and project timelines.
  • Set clear benchmarks, track team performance, and implement improvements to meet the organization's testing standards for both traditional and cloud-based systems.
  • Provide training, resources, and opportunities for growth within the engineering team to build technical capabilities.
  • Learn ISO-NE business processes and adhere to ISO-NE software and change management and IT standards

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in software testing with significant part of that in automated testing
  • 2+ years in people management role
  • Deep knowledge of automated testing frameworks, methodologies, and best practices for both on-premise and AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, mentor talent, and work cross-functionally with technical and business teams.
  • Strong experience with AWS services and hybrid infrastructure testing. Ensure seamless integration and high-quality system performance.
  • Record of accomplishment of addressing complex challenges and improving processes in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Expertise In

  • Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or other automated testing frameworks for web and desktop applications.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3) and knowledge of cloud-specific testing challenges, including performance, scalability, and security testing.
  • Hands-on experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, JFrog or related platforms
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or Shell scripting for developing automated test scripts and processes.
  • Experience with REST API testing tools like Postman or JUnit, ensuring reliable integration of services across on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and testing in a collaborative, multi-developer environment.
  • Strong understanding of testing both on-premise systems and AWS cloud services, ensuring seamless operation and integration between the two.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner to assess the scalability and reliability of cloud and on-premise systems.

Desired Not Required

  • Familiarity with software testing in the energy or utility sectors.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer).
