The incumbent will perform such duties as:

* Supervising an investigative or administrative program or a major segment of such program; plan, coordinate, and oversee investigations; and assign investigations selectively based on their complexity, scope, and the investigator's experience.

* Supervising three or more investigators engaged in conducting investigations of the manufacture, importation, trafficking, and diversion of legitimate pharmaceutical drugs and listed chemicals to illegal channels. Manage overall aspects of the investigation and monitor investigator's progress and activities, including the development and preparation of witnesses for legal proceedings and testifying in legal proceedings, as required.

* Performing investigative duties of exceptional difficulty or of the highest sensitivity and importance ensuring all investigations are conducted within the scope of Federal drug laws and are in accordance with the agency's rules, policies, and regulations.

* Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with Federal, State, and local agencies, the registrant community, and other contacts, and lecture at training seminars for Federal, State, and local officials and DEA registrant community representatives.

Qualifications

GS-14: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: 1) Planning, conducting, and overseeing investigations involving a vast range of subjects that encompass large, complex, and multi-mission organizations and can lead to cases of multi-jurisdictional, national, or international significance; 2) Overseeing development of investigations, statistical data, and reports to evaluate and determine goals and objectives; 3) Planning subordinate work assignments, and setting priorities and deadlines; and 4) Using breadth of technical and investigative knowledge, skills, and tools to discern and resolve conflicting facts or evidence.
