Duties
As a Supervisory Financial Analyst, your typical work assignments may include:
* Serve as the senior liaison for budget, accounting, or financial management policy and procedures within the organization.
* Executes and implements operating policies and procedures to support the financial and procurement goals and objectives to senior management.
* Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, set short-term priorities, prepare schedules for completion of work; assign work to subordinates based on difficulty and requirements of assignment.
* Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
* Collaborate and implement future short and long range budgetary plans to support the Divisions goals and objectives.
* Ensure financial transaction records are accurate and that financial statements reflect agencies financial position and status.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: ) Planning, managing, and executing the functions and activities of a financial program for an organization, including instructing others on financial management execution; 2) Providing expert advice and guidance on the interpretation of financial and budget laws, regulations, policies and procedures to leadership, customers, and subordinates; 3) Evaluates use of financial resources to ensure appropriate use of funding sources; 4) Assesses and revises policies and procedures as needed to find ways to improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency of work; and, 5) Monitoring obligations and expenditures of an organization's program.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
