Department of State - Agency Wide Supervisory IT Specialist Rosslyn, Virginia Apply NowSummary: This position is located with the U.S. Department of State, Office of the Inspector General (OIG), which has statutory oversight responsibility covering the Department, the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), and the International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC). The mission of the Office of Information Technology (IT) Operations Office is to employ a mission-centric approach to IT operations focused on customer service, collaboration, and innovation.Responsibilities:Serve as the Supervisory Information Technology Specialist with an emphasis on Systems and Networking.Provide primary systems technical consultation and authoritative information regarding all aspects of assigned area of responsibility.Ensure continuous operations of all OIG systems and applications, end-user interoperability, and technical quality assurance oversight for IT Managed resources.Act as the Systems and database subject matter expert (SME) on the IT infrastructure team.Perform complex integration and configuration duties requiring expert knowledge to analyze emerging requirements and identify causes of complex operational problems.Establish new approaches to assess all aspects of the network infrastructure, and ensure information assurance principles are applied.Obtain resources and assist in identifying strategic objectives for the organization.Approve leave, establish performance measurements, and correct behaviors detrimental to the organization.Coordinate and distribute work assignments amongst the staff.Coach team members in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques.Develop and present technical briefs for OIG IT senior leadership.Work collaboratively with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to create and maintain security plans, policies, and procedures.Oversee operational security of OIG systems in compliance with FISMA and applicable laws and regulations.Participate in information security risk and vulnerability assessments.Respond to data calls to ensure OIG systems and network compliance with government IT security regulations.Requirements:Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements, including education, and any selective placement factors described below by the closing date of this announcement.
