Join our team today and make Aerospace history!About the Role: The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory IT Specialist (Network/Sysadmin), (NH-2210-03) to work at the 96 Communications Squadron (96 CS/SCOO) at Eglin Air Force Base, FL. In this position you will serve as first level supervisory and managerial authorities over non-supervisory IT specialist/technician employees assigned to 96 CS/SCOO, Eglin Data Center: Responsible for performing professional cyber networking Infrastructure planning, maintenance and installation support of 96th Test Wing and Team Eglin units as well as delivering first-class COMM to advance Team Eglin's warfighting capabilities.APPLY NOW! The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members.Desired Skills: - 2+ years of IT Project Management experience desired- 5+ years of supervisory experience desired- 10+ years of IT administration experience desiredMajor Duties: - First-level supervisory responsibilities over the Team Eglin Core Data Center personnel.- Plan and implement data center modernization efforts, including upgrading hardware and software, adopting new technologies, and improving processes and procedures.- Manage the planning of the data center budget, including preparing and monitoring financial plans, tracking expenses, and controlling costs. Provide documentation, slide decks, and briefs to leadership to advocate for funding allocation.- Ensure the data center operates efficiently and effectively, meeting performance and service level agreements, and complying with relevant regulations and policies.- Oversee the maintenance and repair of data center equipment and infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking devices, and power and cooling systems.- Ensure the security and integrity of data center operations, including implementing access controls, monitoring for security threats, and responding to incidents.- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders, including IT, facilities, and vendors, to ensure seamless and effective data center operations.- Prepare and present reports and performance metrics to senior management and other stakeholders.- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation on data center policies, procedures, and equipment.- Continuously improve data center operations, including identifying and implementing best practices and innovation.Qualifications/Requirements:- U.S. Citizenship - Obtain & maintain Top Secret security clearance - This is a designated Drug Testing Position - This is a cybersecurity position within the DoD Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF); the employee will be fully qualified in accordance with DoDD 8140.01, DoDI 8140.02, and DoDM 8140.03.- Professional knowledge of DoD Information Technology policies, procedures, controls, and responsibilities- Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, resolve complex issues or problems, and modify standard practices and techniques to solve complex interrelated problems.- Skill, judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and ability to foresee the impact of changing technology.Air Force Civilian Service Employment Benefits:Paid Time Off:- 11 Federal Holidays off per year- Vacation time (Annual Leave) accumulates based on length of employment.
