Summary About the position: This is a RFT (full-time) position located at the Fort Eustis Bowling Center on Joint Base Langley-Eustis VA - Ft Eustis location. Position is guaranteed 35 hours per week. This position may be subject to holidays, nights, weekends and on-call work. This position requires Bowling Knowledge. Responsibilities Works under the supervision of the Bowling Center Manager who makes assignments and provides instructions for new or unusual projects/situations. Supervises and directs the activity of personnel assigned to the Front Counter and Custodial staff. Assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinate employees. Plans and performs training and development of employees. Evaluates employees' work performance, approves leave, and initiates personnel and disciplinary actions. Interviews and selects new employees. Interprets rules and procedures for program participants while serving as advisor for group activities. Keeps abreast of the changing trends and requirements related to Air Force programs by means of surveys, pertinent publications, and other indicators. Assists in establishing a viable Bowling Program, catering to the needs of the customers. Instructs patrons on usage of computerized scoring and lead secretary software programs. Responsibilities include monitoring operations, Bonanza Bingo program, daily financial reports, cash handling for change funds and deposits, SETS operation/scheduling, opening and closing routines. Places orders for retail merchandise and supplies to ensure adequate stock levels to meet customer needs. Plans and conducts new programs and events IA W guidance from the Bowling Center Manager. Ensure program utilization and appeal are meeting customer needs and resolves customer complains satisfactorily. In absence of Bowling Center Manager, assumes responsibility of overall operation. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have progressively responsibility experience in a bowling facility which provided basic knowledge of bowling programs, procedures, and rules that provided and an in-depth knowledge of the operations of at least one of the functions for a bowling facility. Applicant must have experience which demonstrates the ability to explain, demonstrate technique, identify problems and obtain required information from the Bowling Center Manager; communicate with co-workers and manager, and manage employees effectively. Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
