Supplier Development Engineer
Location: Remote (Northeast USA preferred) - Company Located in Pennsylvania

Position Overview:
As a Regional Supplier Development Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with regional Supplier Quality Engineering teams to drive quality and productivity improvements across the supply base. This role involves using key process indicators to identify and address areas in suppliers' manufacturing processes that require technological enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Sourcing and Global Supplier Quality Assurance teams to identify suppliers requiring development.
- Analyze supplier health, risk, and delivery metrics, factoring in cost, productivity, safety, and environmental compliance to determine improvement opportunities.
- Develop and support manufacturing process improvements, inspection techniques, mistake-proofing, and quality management systems.
- Use effort-impact-cost matrices to prioritize development opportunities, optimizing investment and resource application.
- Work with suppliers and engineering teams to conceptualize, test, and implement technological advancements.
- Engage in product development and supplier qualification processes to evaluate suppliers' technological capabilities.
- Research industry best practices and emerging technology trends, attending relevant trade shows as needed.
- Participate in the supplier corrective action process to ensure effective technology-driven solutions.
- Establish and monitor key process indicators to gauge the success of development initiatives, focusing on quality, cost, throughput, safety, and compliance.
- Support suppliers during the introduction and qualification of new components, ensuring alignment with tolerances, specifications, and process expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or another engineering discipline with relevant experience).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with a proven record in technology enhancement.
- Proficiency in manufacturing engineering principles and techniques.
- Skilled in 3D modeling and 2D drafting (SolidWorks or similar software).
- Experience with vision technology, fixture design, and mistake-proofing is a plus.
- Familiarity with casting and machining processes is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, often on short notice.
