Supplier Industrial Engineer for Low Voltage TLA modules, will Manage industrialization of Autopilot Infotainment parts, including Audio, Telemetry and Sensors. Responsible to scale to manufacturing at Suppliers working with Tesla Engineering teams for Automotive, Energy and Robotics and Data centers
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Material/Manufacturing Engineering
* 3 - 7 Years Experience in Automotive Top Level Assembly Component Development preferred
* Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Excellent team building skills in dealing with suppliers, peers, and other functional areas.
* Experience in Quality Systems and PPAP/APQP processes
* Well versed with new product development and customer launch DFMEA & PFMEA and DFM
* Ability to learn new skills and processes, in development simulation methods and tools - Knowledge of simulation tools, design tools and methodologies, mechanical systems
* In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and inspection
* Knowledge of Plastic, Metal, Part Design, Tooling, and Manufacturing processes
* Knowledge of Automation in Manufacturing assembly, EOL testing of Electronic Modules
* Must be proficient with SPC and data analysis and have experience in using Statistical Software packages like Minitab or JMP, MS office, especially for Excel and PPT
* Provide leadership for New Product Introduction (NPI) at Suppliers, Lead supplier improvements in scalability, cost, and quality
* Review 2D ,3D CAD Mechanical Drawings and conduct DFM with suppliers
* Execute qualification activities, required for product release PPAP
* Accountable for supplier audits to ensure their ability to meet part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations
* Collaborate with Tesla Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to determine the ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics
* Accountable for leading, tracking and improving supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes
* Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure they are robust, sustainable, and implemented for similar potential concerns across manufacturing lines and/or suppliers
* Provide input on new or alternative materials for improved design, manufacturability, or cost reduction
