If so, then come join a passionate team focused on producing key products for environmental and societal benefit!THE OPPORTUNITYReporting to the Plant Manager, Belmont, the Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist will:
  • Perform audits, communicate results, and provide recommendations to procurement on new and existing suppliers to ensure suppliers meet the expected specifications.
  • Drive supplier development projects as needed to improve the quality of the materials supplied to Carus.
  • Oversee compliance for NSF, Kosher, KIWA, and Halal globally. Ensure quality operations are managed in a cost-effective manner aligned with the approved budget and allocations to plants are reviewed and appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control Manager at our LaSalle location to ensure high-level processes and procedures are standardized across locations for quality planning, testing and inspections, methods, instruments, statistical analysis, process control, etc.
  • Collaborate with the LaSalle Quality Control Manager to ensure impacted site personnel at LaSalle receive training when changes are made to Phosphates quality assurance programs, procedures, and sampling techniques.
  • Review all raw material Certificate of Analysis, addressing any issues.
  • Support Belmont Site QMS with analytical methods and questions, specialty testing, and performing or coordinating 3rd party calibration/analysis as required.
THE QUALIFICATIONSThe right candidate will be a strong communicator who possesses superior analytical and problem-solving skills. Your credentials ideally include:
  • A bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or related field with five or more years of hands-on as a Quality Specialist/Engineer/Laboratory Supervisor, or a master's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, or related field with hands-on experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Process or Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Technology.
  • Hands on experience in auditing manufacturing facilities, equipment, laboratories, and service providers.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Visio, Minitab, applied statistics, and documentation software.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI and EPA regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to work independently yet sees others as partners and essential team members.
  • Strong organizational and systems implementation.
  • Ability to travel up to (10%) of the time. Up to 25% travel may be required during initial training.
